Temporary Role:
The Senior Research Associate will contribute to laboratory-based protein science efforts at Tentarix, focusing on the purification and biophysical and biochemical characterization of recombinant proteins to support preclinical research.
Responsibilities:
- Primarily responsible for performing protein characterization and developability assessment for lead identification and optimization.
- Protein characterization, including conformational, colloidal, and chemical stability, as well as other biophysical attributes, using UPLC/HPLC, BLI, Nanotemper, Mass spectrometry, and other methodologies.
- High throughput small-scale batch purifications, and large-scale, FPLC-based protein purification using affinity, ion exchange, and size exclusion chromatography.
- Support epitope binning and mapping.
- Independently plan and execute experiments, analyze results, and present data at team meetings.
- Maintain a meticulous record of their research.
Qualifications and Skills:
- B.S., plus 4 or more years or M.S plus 2 or more years of industry experience with recombinant protein purification and characterization.
- Prior experience with antibody and soluble protein affinity chromatography techniques as well as experience choosing secondary purification methodologies.
- Experience examining various aspects of protein stability by UPLC/HPLC and thermal stability, is highly desired.
- Experience with protein characterization by mass spectrometry is a plus.
- Goal-oriented, highly organized, and capable of multitasking.
- Strong communication and record-keeping abilities.
- Thrive in a cross-functional team environment.
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training, licensure, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Tentarix, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate for this temporary role is a range of $50 – $65 per hour, depending on experience.
