Role:

The Senior Scientist of Pharmacology will be responsible for the assessment of engineered protein therapeutics in autoimmune/inflammatory disease mouse models and mouse models of immuno-oncology. In addition, the Senior Scientist is expected to lead, mentor and train group members and perform ex vivo and in vitro assays defining therapeutic activity and cellular selectivity. 

Responsibilities:

  • Development and execution of a variety of autoimmune disease and immuno-oncology in vivo models to test engineered protein therapeutics
  • Simultaneously prioritize tasks to support multiple immunology/oncology projects
  • Independently perform various in vivo studies, including study design, execution, data analysis, and presentation to multidisciplinary teams and senior management
  • Perform mechanistic ex vivo studies on samples harvested from mouse models of various diseases using flow cytometry, mesoscale discovery, RT-PCR, and other techniques
  • Develop complex in vitro immunological assays for evaluation of mechanism of action of engineered protein therapeutics
  • Build strong lines of communication with other teams at Tentarix to ensure proper hand-offs, maintain efficient workflows and maximize our capabilities
  • Maintain a culture of innovation and continual improvement
  • Contribute to scientific discussions, regulatory filing, and intellectual property documents

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Ph.D., post-doctoral experience, and 3+ years in industry in the field of immunology with hands on experience in mouse models is a requirement
  • Experience of working with biologics or other forms of immunotherapies targeting autoimmune disease or cancer is desired
  • Technical experience in the development and execution of ELISAs, MSD, flow-cytometry, in vitro and ex vivo immunology assays, and/or in vivo assays
  • Experience with immune cell-based assays including isolation of immune cell populations from whole blood or tissues is desired
  • Experience with in vivo efficacy studies in animal models of autoimmunity or cancer (particularly PBMC engrafted NSG and/or CD34 humanized mouse models) is desirable
  • Goal oriented, organized, capable of prioritizing across multiple projects, and able to execute to timelines that meet company goals
  • A track record of innovation and scientific rigor, strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills, and ability to contribute constructively to discussions.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience, training, licensure, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Tentarix, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $130,000 – 145,000 + bonus target + benefits + equity.
